Key takeaways

  • A digital business card is an online profile shared by NFC tap, QR code or link — no app is needed to receive it.
  • Koroot costs AED 9.55 a month or AED 95.40 a year in the UAE, with a physical NFC card included on the yearly plan.
  • Choose a card that handles Arabic and English properly — networking in the UAE is bilingual.
  • Before you commit, check for unlimited edits, team management and no automatic renewals.

What is a digital business card?

A digital business card is an online profile that holds everything a paper card does — your name, title, company, phone number and email — plus the things paper cannot: your WhatsApp, LinkedIn, website, location pin and portfolio.

The person receiving it does not need to install anything. Your profile opens in their phone's browser, and one more tap saves you to their contacts, spelled correctly and with every number in the right field.

Three ways to share it

  • An NFC card: a physical card with a small chip that opens your profile when tapped against a phone.
  • A QR code: printed on the card or shown on your screen, readable by any phone camera.
  • A link: pasted into WhatsApp, an email signature or a LinkedIn message.

Why are professionals in the UAE switching from paper?

Business in the UAE moves at conference speed. In one week in Dubai you might meet dozens of people across a trade show floor, a client lunch and three WhatsApp groups. Paper cards struggle at that pace: they run out, they get lost in a jacket pocket, and someone still has to type them into a phone.

Large events such as GITEX Global and Arabian Travel Market bring exhibitors and visitors from around the world to Dubai. A tap-to-share card lets you exchange details in the time it takes to shake hands — and teams that follow up the same evening have a real edge.

The direction of travel is clear too. The UAE has pushed hard on digital government, and Dubai's government announced in 2021 that its internal operations had gone fully paperless. A digital card fits the way the whole market is moving.

NFC, QR code or app: which should you choose?

There are four common ways to share a digital business card. They differ mainly in what the other person has to do to receive your details.

Ways to share a digital business card
MethodHow it is sharedDoes the receiver need an app?Best for
NFC cardTap the card on the back of a phoneNoMeetings, events, handshake moments
QR codeThe phone camera scans the codeNoScreens, slides, signage and older phones
LinkSent by WhatsApp, email or LinkedInNoFollowing up remotely
App-only cardBoth people use the same appUsually yesClosed networks where everyone has the app

The best cards give you the first three together. Every Koroot card has a link and a QR code, and the Yearly and Business plans include a physical NFC card. If you are weighing Koroot against app-based tools, our comparison with generic card apps goes into more detail.

How much does a digital business card cost in the UAE?

Prices range from free QR-only profiles to enterprise contracts. What matters is what the price includes: a physical NFC card, team management, Arabic support — and whether you are tied into automatic renewals.

Koroot plans in UAE dirhams
PlanPriceWhat is included
MonthlyAED 9.55 per monthOne digital card with every feature
YearlyAED 95.40 per yearOne digital card plus a physical NFC card
BusinessAED 76.40 per card per yearTeam cards from 5 upwards, shared templates, one-payment renewals

None of Koroot's plans renew automatically. You decide when to renew, and renewing early adds the new term on top of the days you have left. Every plan is compared on the pricing page.

Can one card work in Arabic and English?

In the UAE you might hand your card to a government client in the morning and a European supplier in the afternoon. A bilingual card lets each of them read your details in their own language, with the Arabic laid out properly from right to left.

Koroot cards hold an English and an Arabic version side by side. When you create a card with AI, it fills both languages for you — translating your title and transliterating your name — and you can adjust either one before you publish.

How do you set up a digital business card?

  1. Sign in

Open the Koroot portal and sign in with your email, Google or LinkedIn. Your account is created the first time you sign in.

  2. Let AI fill in your card

Upload a photo of your current paper card, or type a sentence about yourself. Koroot reads it and fills in your name, title, company, phone numbers and links in English and Arabic.

  3. Check and personalise

Review both languages, add your photo and social links, and choose your colours.

  4. Choose a plan

Pick Monthly, Yearly or Business and pay by card or Apple Pay. See all plans and prices.

  5. Start sharing

Tap your NFC card on a new contact's phone, show your QR code, or send your link. You can also add your card to Apple Wallet.

What should UAE teams look for in a provider?

  • No app needed to receive — anything else puts friction on the person you are meeting.
  • Arabic and English that render correctly, right to left.
  • Prices in AED, with no surprise automatic renewals.
  • A physical NFC card included, or at least available.
  • Team management once more than a handful of people need cards.
  • Unlimited edits, so a promotion or a new number never means reprinting.
  • Support in your time zone. Koroot is based in Muscat with a UAE support line — see our contact options.
